The water-repellent DWR-finish fabric wicks away moisture, mud and dirt during your exploits and the shorts have a removable 2-layer lining that improves comfort when you're in the saddle. You can remove the lining from the shorts, but only do so if you are sure you don't change your mind, as if you want to return them, the lining must be intact.
