SPLITBOARD... WHAT IS IT'?

A Splitboard is a snowboard that splits in half so as to be able to form two separate pieces and allow snowboarders to climb the snowy slopes with seal skins with a technique similar to that of ski mountaineering. Once you reach the end of the ascent, the two halves are reconnected, forming an integral snowboard with which to practice freeriding.

TIPS FOR LEARNING THE SPLITBOARD

Many of the tips for Splitboarding are similar to those for ski mountaineering, the environment and the objectives are often the same, so you need to learn from those who have been doing it for much longer than us and adapt the ski mountaineering techniques to those of ascent with a splitboard . Downhill, in my opinion we are the ones who have a lot to teach them, but that's another story...

Furthermore, we must always keep in mind that in most cases, while ski mountaineers use narrow skis and Hard boots, we have a board which, even if divided in two, is decidedly wider and Soft boots which in some situations are not really a help !

CONTROLLO DEL GRUPPO

Usually people who go on a trip together know each other. Technical capabilities and mutual fitness are therefore transparent. This is an advantage for the management of tour time and the smooth running of the trip.
On the other hand, if group members are unfamiliar with each other, precise communication in advance of riding level and walking speed is required. For this reason, if you are the most experienced member and therefore the Tour Leader, you must be able to modify the parameters of the tour according to the physical fitness and driving skills of the weakest member of the group! If you are not the tour leader you must still have the ability to understand if whoever assumes the burden of managing the group is actually doing it!

Given their similarity both in graphics and in shape, I am often asked if the only difference between the Voilè Spartan and Spartan Ascent splitboard is just the colour?
