MERINO WOOL
Since 1995, merino wool has been an integral component of ORTOVOX’s mountainwear. Our merino wool comes from happy sheep reared on monitored, ethical sheep farms. The wool is naturally ecological and therefore super sustainable. Thanks to the small-diameter fibers in its fine woolen threads, merino wool feels extremely soft and comfortable on the skin. In addition to comfort, merino wool also provides an ideal personal body climate by regulating both moisture and temperature. It is also easy to care for and, thanks to its antibacterial effect, odor neutralizing.
For ski mountaineering trips or high-altitude excursions: with SWISSWOOL CLASSIC GLOVE your fingers remain warm. The wool gloves SWISSWOOL CLASSIC GLOVE are made of 100% virgin wool and offer all the advantages of wool to keep your hands at an optimal temperature: exceptional thermal properties and ideal temperature, the wool heats even when it is wet and moreover it is fair trade, sustainable and regional.

MATERIAL
SWISSWOOL
The virgin wool we use is produced locally in Switzerland. SWISSWOOL has set up collection stations specifically for this purpose in many Swiss Alpine valleys, some of which are very remote, guaranteeing a fair price for raw wool. This has led to a revival in sheep farming and wool production, which are often quite unprofitable. After the raw wool has been weighed, it is washed and then processed. ORTOVOX then provides the unique design and functionality during the manufacture of the end product.
Our sustainable MERINO WOOL comes from monitored, ethical sheep farms. It is comfortably soft, easy to care for, and provides an optimum body climate thanks to its moisture- and temperature-regulating properties.
Lightweight cap with technical wool mix for hiking
The 120 TEC BEANIE cap is not only perfect for your summer among the rough rocks thanks to its rock print: thanks to the CORESPUN BY © SÜDWOLLE GROUP TECHNOLOGY, the Merino wool and polyamide fabric is extremely light and at the same time very resistant. The elastic and soft material protects the head, thanks to Tasmanian Merino wool it quickly absorbs moisture and is pleasantly light. Ideal for activities where you tend to sweat.
Lightweight headband with technical wool mix for hiking
The 120 TEC HEADBAND is a light and thin headband that quickly absorbs moisture thanks to Tasmanian Merino wool. Merino wool is thermoregulating, neutral to odors and pleasant on the skin. Thus the lightweight headband is ideal for strenuous summer activities, both in the mountains and in the valley.
In the 120 MERINO TEC collection we use a combination of particularly stable and resistant materials consisting of 85% virgin wool (MERINO) and 15% polyamide. The peculiarity of the fabric is the COMPLEX PRODUCTION PROCESS (CORESPUN technology by © Südwolle Group) of this exclusive yarn: the finest Tasmanian Merino wool fibers are spun around a core of polyamide filaments.
The spinning technique creates a smooth yarn of reduced volume. In this way, fabrics can be developed that combine the stability and resistance of polyamide with the proven characteristics of merino wool.
